About the Role and Team
At Tiny Earth Toys, we are on a mission to build a society of environmental stewards to save our planet starting with our youngest learners. We are looking for a part-time, contract Social Media & Community Associate (contract) to play a critical role supporting our team and our digital presence in changing the paradigm of ownership and consumption.

Tiny Earth’s team is nascent but is one that seeks to understand, listens deeply and actively, challenges each other with care, and authentically cares about the environmental impact of our business decisions. We’re looking for an intern who enjoys content creation, engaging with community via social channels, and will approach their role with positivity and flexibility.

Social media presents a unique opportunity to connect directly with our community. In this role you’ll support Tiny Earth in creating dynamic content for Instagram, and establishing and growing our community on TikTok. You will work with the team to amplify marketing campaigns, and engage with our customers and followers across channels.

This role is 10-15 hours a week with coverage needed a minimum of 5 days per week including 1 weekend day. This role pays $20-$25 an hour depending on experience. This contract is from September 1 to December 31. This role is hybrid based in Durham, NC with 1 day, every other week in office. **In this role, you will: **

  • Asset creation and posting for TikTok, IG Reels _(4 per week) _
  • Community engagement (comments, dms, and outbound comments)
  • Regular Instagram and Facebook Stories updates
    • Polls, questions, announcements
    • Re-sharing member and partner posts
  • Post brand static content
  • FB Group community engagement & monitoring

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience growing and managing accounts on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
  • Believes in the power of social media to drive our mission and business forward
  • Is creative and enjoys championing content ideas while balancing what the team may need
  • Has a clear and concise communication style

Bonus points if you:

  • Are familiar with Canva, Later.com, and proficient in Google Suite
  • Are passionate about Montessori learning and sustainability
  • Have experience or knowledge of early childhood education
