Looma Background

Looma exists to inspire, educate, and humanize the shopping experience. Our first product, Loop™️, is an in-store network of screens that play short videos focused on storytelling and education. The content for this platform is powered by our second product, Relay™️, a marketplace of filmmakers and other creators who specialize in point-of-decision content.

Position Summary

The Director of Brand Partnerships role blends sales, strategy, analysis, and design to optimize programs that both delight shoppers and deliver business value to brands and retailers. Primary responsibilities include identifying target brands to feature on Loop™ and developing partnerships with select local, national, and international brands. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Brand Partnerships will also leverage strategic partnerships and build systems and teams to support growth.

The responsibilities for this role can be split into three primary categories:

  1. Direct Brand Sales and Account Management: 70%
  2. Retail Partner Strategy and Support: 20%
  3. Agency Partnerships: 10%

Direct Brand Sales and Account Management: 70%

  • Identify target brand partners for retail programs
  • Sell complex Loop™ campaign packages to executive-level buyers
  • Design and maintain program-specific sales materials
  • Co-sell film production packages alongside our Story Development team
  • Build and conduct bi-annual performance reviews with top brand portfolios
  • Increase brand spend year over year
  • Work alongside our account management team to ensure brands are well-informed and remain Looma advocates
  • Contribute to team sprint planning and other company planning objectives, remaining highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Write exceptional emails that are polished and beautiful

Retail Partner Strategy and Support: 20%

  • Leverage strategic partnerships to support retail growth
  • Present and accurately represent brand interest to category managers
  • Work with the Retail Success team to keep category managers up to date and ensure program execution is flawless
  • Support the Retail Success team’s quarterly business reviews
  • Ensure the health of existing Loop™ programs

Agency Partnerships: 10%

  • As needed, work with brands’ agency partners to create and complete films

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Finds and tells the right story for our brands: loves marketing, advertising and film and finds joy in seeing a brand or product’s story come to life via Loop™️; excited to connect shoppers to the people behind their products
  • Highly analytical: finds joy in studying performance to understand what works on Loop™️ and grows full-funnel value / iROAS over time; trustworthy as a key partner in making budgetary decisions
  • Warmth / magnetism: quick to love people, able to win over nearly anyone, and will represent the Looma brand well in serving as its face to brand partners
  • Polish: writes in an easy to understand and read fashion; has experience presenting to high-level executives; remains calm and confident under pressure
  • Organization and follow-through: lets nothing slip through the cracks
  • Proven salesmanship: indisputable track record of excellence working directly with brands in a sales or customer success function
  • Experience with retail media or advertising strongly preferred
  • Startup experience strongly preferred

Structure & Compensation

Looma will provide a competitive compensation package consisting of base salary and stock options. All Looma compensation packages include some cash / equity flexibility (i.e. you can opt for more equity and less cash or vice-versa).
